Megan & Thomas
Apple Orchard Fall wedding in the hills of Virginia
There’s something special about capturing a wedding that feels effortless—where the whole day radiates authenticity. Megan and Thomas’s wedding at The Homestead Farm Historic Wright-Barton in Winchester, Virginia, was one of those days.
As a photographer, I often say that the best weddings are the ones where couples trust me to document their day as it unfolds naturally. Megan and Thomas embodied that trust. They allowed me to step into their world for a day and preserve moments that, hopefully, will remind them of not just the beauty of the event, but the emotion behind it.
The ceremony was held beneath towering willow trees. The Right Barton Historic Farm is the kind of venue that deserves its own moment in the spotlight. Its red barn, with its open doors and twinkling lights makes the space inviting yet expansive, allowing for intimate moments while accommodating lively celebrations. The wedding album ended up really showcasing the rolling hills of Virginia behind the Barn.
Megan and Thomas’s reception was a testament to their personalities: relaxed, joyful, and genuine. The barn was filled with laughter, music, and the kind of energy that’s impossible to manufacture. Watching them interact, it was clear they were not just partners but best friends—a quality that made photographing them an absolute joy! They were at ease with each other, and their comfort translated beautifully into the images. Candid smiles, quick glances, small gestures—all of it was there, waiting to be captured.
Shooting for Megan and Thomas was incredible. It is always an honor to capture people’s big moments. But knowing how good and kind people are makes me want to go above and beyond to not simply deliver photos, but to really know them and to serve them well!
